Gemet 343

DESCRIPTION
Gemet 343 is high Niobium - Chromium Carbide alloy specially designed to resist high stress grinding abrasion wear with moderate impact, even at elevated temperatures of 450°C. The deposit will exhibit surface relief checks.
•    Basic coated SMAW electrode for hardfacing.
•    Surfacing of parts subjected to heavy abrasion with moderate               impact.
•    Service temperature: max. 450ºC.
•    Quiet and regular fusion.
ALLOY BASIS : C, Si, Cr, Nb

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
•    Cement presses,
•    Brick presses,
•    Refractory press-screws,
•    Conveyor screws,
•    Mixer blades,
•    Palm nut press-screws, etc.
WELD METAL PROPERTIES :
•    STRUCTURE : Austenite with Nb & Cr carbides
•    HARDNESS:
    •    1 layer  : 62 HRc approx
    •    2 layer : 63 HRc approx
    •    3 layer : 64 HRc approx

•    MACHINABILITY : By grinding
     REDRYING : Min. 1 hr at 300°C
