GAS AND TIG WELDING CONSUMABLES
IDENTIFICATION
Getig 4043, ER 4043
CLASSIFICATION
AWS/SFA 5.10: ER4043 IS: 5897: SNG 21
DESCRIPTION
Getig 4043 is a premium quality Aluminum nominal 5% Silicon alloy rod. Its lower weld deposit strength and excellent crack resistance make it suitable for GAS or GAS TUNGSTEN ARC (GTAW / TIG) welding of cast alloys.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
Suitable for Gas Welding and Gas Tungsten Arc (GTAW/ TIG) Welding applications of cast mainly (4XX & 6XX series) alloys and wrought (selected 1XXX, 5XXX & 6XXX series) aluminum alloys, except where an accurate colour match is required after anodizing.
PROCEDURE FOR GAS TUNGSTEN ARC (TIG) WELDING
Thoroughly clean all areas to be joined. For the butt welding of thick plates, bevel to 65° –75° included angle. Use a Zirconiated tungsten electrode, ground to a tapered blunt point .Use high frequency stabilized alternating current (AC-HF) and Welding Grade Argon. Preheat high sections before welding, heat a spot on the base metal until it shows signs of melting and progressively add the filler rod to the weld pool.
